If you are looking for a place you can take your family during the summer months, the Tropics Indoor Water Park is the perfect idea. This famous water park has something for everybody all the way from toddler age to adults and all of it is safe! The best part is that it is indoors so you do not have to wait until the weather is hot outside. You can enjoy the water slides, water volleyball and more even when the weather is cold. The park is generally open between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. from Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. The cost is only $6.50 for adult Shoreview residents, $5.50 for ages 1-17 and seniors or the entire family can get in for $22. There are even banquet facilities and fitness equipment so you can do more than just swim. For more information about prices, hours and other parts of the facility, call the Shoreview Community Center at (651) 490-4701.
The town of Shoreview encourages its residents to help the environment by recycling whenever it is possible. The community offers a curbside recycling program so all you have to do is sort the recyclables and set them at your curb just like your normal trash. Recyclables include newspapers, cans, glass bottles and jars, magazines, catalogs, phone books, cardboard boxes and similar items. To get bins for your recyclables or for more information about the curbside recycling program, call Waste Management at (952) 890-1100.
Shoreview has one of the lowest crime rates when compared to similar cities in the United States. Part of that is because of the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department which is contracted to provide police services to Shoreview. The department offers a variety of programs to help curb crime, including Neighborhood Watch programs, patrols, youth mentoring and more. These programs are designed to create a relationship between the citizens and the police and instill a sense of trust. The department has about 400 members which serve more than 500,000 residents in the community. For non-emergency calls and for more information, call (651) 266-9333.
There are several ways to get around the Shoreview community even if you do not have a car.
